Arts & Crafts Garden
The house vernacular – traditional Arts and Crafts is replicated in the garden design with clever use of materials to ‘bed the garden’ into its setting.
An alfresco dining area with bespoke pergola and awning, positioned close to the kitchen looks down onto a classic millstone water feature , drawing the eye down into the ornamental herbaceous planting giving a sense of enclosure and intimacy . The newly planted garden will soon be lush with the smells of lavender and roses.
The previously underused extension of garden along the side of the property is cleverly put to use as a path to the front entrance with large swathes of herbaceous planting and multi stem birch trees which push your eye out to the ancient oaks and purples beach trees in the surrounding landscape.
An area to bask in late afternoon sun has now become the favourite spot for the lady of the house.
The green house and raised veg beds have been repositioned so as not to interfere with the ornamental gardens. A box hedge and jasmine climbers cleverly screening the working areas from the main body of the design.
